Welcome to the seventeenth series of The Edinburgh Lectures which will
present and discuss Chinese Connections.
The 2008 Olympic Games
in Beijing has put China centre-stage and the 2008/9 series of The Edinburgh
Lectures will reflect this international attention. Our theme "Chinese
Connections" will allow a range of interesting speakers to discuss
the economy, media, medicine, the arts and other matters providing a unique
perspective of China's, past, present and future.

- Mark
Cousins, Tuesday 24th February has been cancelled.
Unfortunately due to filming commitments in China Mark Cousins is unable
to participate in the 2008/9 series Chinese Connections. The ticket administration
fee will be refunded by Hub Tickets - telephone: 0131 473 2000
- Will Hutton, Friday 20th March has been rescheduled
for Friday 13 March at 6.30pm. Tickets obtained for the previous
date remain valid for the rescheduled date. Please note earlier start
time. Venue remains the same. If you are unable to attend, please return
your ticket(s), as soon as possible, to The Hub, Castlehill, Royal Mile
(Mon-Fri 10am-5pm) Telephone: 0131 473 2000 to obtain a refund of the
£3 administration fee.
The final two lectures
by Will Hutton (13 March - 6.30pm) and the Royal Zoological Panel lecture
on the giant pandas (27th March - 1.30pm) will now complete the series.
Some tickets are still available for 27th March.
