James Kynge
Kynge

James Kynge graduated from Edinburgh University in Chinese with Japanese in 1985. Following graduation, he went to China, and has stayed there or thereabouts ever since, first as a journalist with Reuters and the Financial Times, and latterly overseeing the Pearson Group’s China operations. James has travelled to every Chinese province and speaks Mandarin fluently. His bestselling book, “China Shakes the World”, examines the diverse impact that the world’s most populous country is having internationally. It has been translated into 19 languages and in 2006 won the FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year award.
