BBC Executive Producer, A History of Scotland: Neil McDonald is a Creative Director of Documentaries at BBC Scotland. He leads the production and development of a range of factual programmes for the network and for BBC Scotland.

BBC Series Producer, A History of Scotland: Richard Downes has produced numerous titles for the BBC network and for BBC Scotland. Credits include The Late Show, In Cuba, They're Still Dancing and How to Make a Movie.

Dr Mark Jardine

Dr Mark Jardine

Series Historian, A History of Scotland: Mark Jardine recently completed his thesis on the Conveners of the 1680s. He was researcher for the series In Search of Scotland and Tales of Grandfather.

Catriona MacDonald

Dr Catriona MacDonald

Senior Lecturer in History, Glasgow Caledonian University: Catriona MacDonald's research interests lie in the late modern social and political history of Scotland. Works to date include Unionist Scotland, The Radical Thread and Whaur Extremes Meet: Scotland's Twentieth Century.

Ruth Wishart Ruth Wishart

Journalist and Broadcaster: Ruth Wishart writes a weekly column for The Herald and presents programmes on contemporary ethics for the BBC. She is a trustee of the National Galleries of Scotland, chair of the Dewar Arts Awards and of Theatre Cryptic.
