Sir Tom Hunter founded West
Coast Capital (West Coast), the private equity partnership, in March
2001 and the venture philanthropy, The Hunter Foundation in 1998.
Prior to which he sold sports retailer, Sports Division, the business
he developed from start-up for £290m. In 2005 he was Knighted
for services to entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
Tom is a member
of the Smith Group, advising the Scottish Executive in addressing
the NEET Group (Not in Education, Employment or Training), a director
of PSYBT (Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust), and a director
of the Carnegie Universities Trust for Scotland. Tom endowed; with
£5millon, the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship. He is also
joint chairman of CHDI (Clinton Hunter Development Initiative),
a joint foundation with the former president, Bill Clinton. |
