Homecoming Scotland 2009 – helping Scotland to buck the global recession/economic downturn

Homecoming Scotland 2009

Peter Lederer, VisitScotland Chairman, will talk about the role played by Homecoming Scotland in helping Scotland to buck the global recession.

Tourism plays a vital role in Scotland's economy, contributing around £4bn and supporting 200,000 jobs. At a time when tourism globally has been hit by the economic downturn, Homecoming Scotland has given us a competitive edge, placing Scotland on the global map, attracting visitors from every corner of the world and providing a focus at home, both across the public and private sectors, to sell Scotland to the world.
