Edinburgh Scientific Services, part of The City of Edinburgh Council’s Services for Communities, offers a competitive analytical and scientific service, operating from modern laboratory facilities at Marine Esplanade, Edinburgh.
We have state-of-the-art equipment for sophisticated testing and analysis. Testing is carried out by fully qualified staff, using appropriate British and International Standard methods. We hold UKAS accreditation for asbestos related activities, toy testing and chemical and microbiological testing of food and water. Reports are issued providing interpretation of results and advice on scientific and legislative matters.
Quality is of the highest importance in analytical testing and a comprehensive Quality Control System is in operation.
We are appointed as Public Analyst, Food Examiner and Official Agricultural Analyst to a number of local authorities in Scotland.
