Inspiring Tourism

City Development

City Development has a dedicated Tourism Section, which co-ordinates, delivers and champions tourism projects on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council. The Tourism section works closely with other departments within the Council, external agencies and the private sector to maximise available resources and provide a co-ordinated approach.

Council Tourism Team

The City Development Tourism section leads the Council Tourism Team (CTT), which is an officer led inter-departmental working group focused on co-ordinating tourism related projects. Areas of interest include transport, cleansing, communications, venues, festivals and events.

Edinburgh Tourism Action Group

The City Development Tourism Section also works closely with the Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG). More information can be found on the following page ETAG

The recently published Edinburgh Tourism Action Plan 2008 will drive forward tourism projects and initiatives across Edinburgh, promote public-private sector working and support the Edinburgh Tourism Framework for Growth 2007-2015. Downloads of these documents are available on this page and copies can be obtained from City Development at the stated address.
