On 26 May the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 came into force, replacing many important consumer protection laws, including the Trade Descriptions Act and the laws on misleading pricing and advertising. Whether you are a general retailer, home improvement company, car dealer, estate agent, credit business, pub, restaurant or holiday company, the new regulations will have an effect on your business – not least in the tough new penalties for anyone falling foul of the law.
