Animal Health

A Local Authority investigates outbreaks of notifiable diseases, such as:

• Rabies
• Anthrax
• Swine Fever
• Tuberculosis
• Foot and Mouth Disease.

The main piece of legislation that is enforced by Local Authority Animal Health Officers is the Animal Health Act 1981.
